EUROPE UNITED

3 parts Complete Mature

Nolondo, 2084 A.D. Tylos and Lienar are virtual lovers. They meet in secret cyber rooms where they touch and feel each other with a bit of help from the multimedia gizmos their peers use to get their kicks: virtual goggles and sensing gel... No other choices! They live in Europe United, a nation also known as Unu Lando in the official Esperanto language, where no one is supposed to have sex before his or her forced marriage upon turning twenty. Together, they decide to fight the totalitarian regime and enroll in a dissident group called Rezisto. After being declared persona non grata by the police state, a sadistic detective goes on their trail, and they flee to Terra Santa, in the Canary Islands. Their incredible adventure brings them through the Paris Catacombs; across the Atlantic Ocean; on an ancient pilgrimage route in Spain, and into the heart of the Marrakesh souk. From freedom fighters to terrorists, wanted fugitives to cult-heroes, religious gurus to heads of state, their remarkable quest leads the young couple to assume many roles, which all end at the top of the Cumbre Vieja volcano. Watching the waves travel across the sea, Tylos ponders the same question he encountered at the beginning of his journey: Does an ideology, with the power of life and death over people, justify using the same methods you are rebelling against?
