A red siren sounded in the girl's mind, she knew she was in trouble the moment she saw him. She knew her brother would kill her when he found out she fell for a guy.
He ignored the noisy red siren going off in his mind, he didn't want to fall for her. Their mutual friend would be pissed if he spoke about it.
The two went their separate ways, bumping into each other causally but never actually conversing.
She was vocal in her feelings to him, causing her best friend to go insane.
He kept it internalized, pushing down the feelings and reducing them to almost nothing.
The internalized feelings bubbled up and they kept growing, and growing until he couldn't handle it anymore.

"You don't love me, you can't love me." My body shakes uncontrollably as I fall to the ground, sobbing into my hands as I try to muffle the sound desperately.
