You are (Y/N) (L/N) - princess of a city called "Ordanne", which lays south to Baron, about a two day trip away from it. You have been in love with someone for two years now and were close to marrying him in order to take up your position as the ruler of your hometown. However, as shocking as a sudden rain shower, betrayal weighs down on you, tainting your heart.
Being rescued by a man called "Kain Highwind" you start to get to know the Dragoon commander. As time passes, you realize there might actually be someone who has the key to your sealed heart - and perhaps you will be able to discover how to open the door to his own as well?

This is an AU of FF IV, which takes place BEFORE the game's story. I made up some new places/people for the sake of this story. Otherwise, characters and their motivations will remain the same.
