There are four clans, Treeclan, Rainclan, Flameclan and Sandclan. They lived in peace, Treeclan and Rainclan in the thick forests and Flameclan and Sandclan in the nearby desert. Years ago there was a fire, caused by lighting, that swept through the forests. Few trees and plants survived, all in groups together, but a tree the was originally near all the others became separated. None of the trees around it grew back, creating the gathering place, Lightning Tree.

Shap shots of multiple different character pov's in to their lives. Follow the characters living in the Clan of Forest of Eyes or Forest clan, as well as three other clans around them. Clan of Rain and Wetland or Rain Clan, Clan of Slated Claw or Slate Clan and Clan of Thorn and Rock or Rock Clan. join them as the clans face hardships, sorrows and joys, discover their secrets and walk beside them on their journeys. These are all OC clans and although do take a lot of inspiration from Warrior Cats do function differently to the Warrior Cats universe.
