Our world is different then your world, at least it is for us.
To most of us...the world ended hundreds of years ago, Who knew scientists were right about overpopulation, when the time came we had to make a decision...either reduce population or everyone parishes.
All those years ago the government split us up into 4 groups..."The Center" where all the wealthy people live at the top of the world, "The Commons" where you live if your working for the wealthy but can barely get by, "The Last" is simply where the poor live and people without hope to live get sent to die, and finally "The Outskirts" No one above The Last know of our existence, excluding the government, We might as well be our own land.
We live free and listen to no one, we fend for ourselves, and we thrive on our own. That was until a teenage girl thought wasn't careful enough sneaking around and got caught.
Running into a boy who will soon change the way everyone lives. I'm Rose and this is my story.

I slip out of my corner and into the now empty hallway, shutting the doors behind me. I race as fast as I can away from that interrogation room and tears stream down my face. I've tried so hard to be good. I've tried so hard to fit in. What have I done to deserve this? Lost in thought, I can't look where I'm going. My face connects with a human-feeling thing. "Emma?" Tyler asks and states. I look up into his cold eyes. "You?" I push past him, slamming my shoulder on his. Pain spikes through me, but all I can think about is getting out of here. There are black dots in my vision. I hear yells and calls after me, but they are faded. I burst through the first door I find. A mob of people await me, but they aren't about to arrest me. Growing up, I always thought that there was something terribly wrong with me. Because while everyone else had no problem blindly following orders, I had always been more curious. I realized I wasn't the only one when I met my friends. We came up with a whole plan to wait until graduation and then leave. We were so close, until it all went backwards. All this time we thought that it was unlivable atmosphere outside of the barriers. That no one else dared to be curious. Turns out there was a real good reason for that. While America seems to be running perfectly under these laws, a rebellion is stirring among the professionals. With secrets and lies in government and families alike to change the future of America forever, Cassidy finds herself caught up in the middle of the all out war that is about to break out. What she thought she knew about her world is about to change forever, bringing everyone she knows down with her. DISCLAIMER 2016/2017: This book is a few years old at this point, and due to the political uproar in American in 2016 I feel the need to make this abundantly clear. Outcasts takes place in a dystopian world in an undetermined year in the future, and the political parties depicted in this story - the Republicans and the Democrats - are in no way, shape or form a commentary on their real-life counterparts. I had very little knowledge of American politics when I wrote this story, and if I could go back and change their names I would. Throughout the story you will read of absurd flaws in both party agendas, and in no way did I ever intend to shame or defame the real life Republican and Democratic parties of America. See them as purely fictitious - that's what they are, after all.Complete
