Humans have lived on earth unopposed and alone for thousands upon thousands of years. Finding mundane existence boring, they have created stories of magic and monsters to sooth their lucrative imagination for as long as history remembers.

Arik was one of these very same humans. It wasn't until tragedy struck his mortality that he learned just how wrong everyone truly is. Not only did he awaken from death, but he awoke with what he could only describe as super powers. The stuff of comic books.

He was a deathless.

Normally it would be all sunshine and rainbows, but Arik is inevitably brought face to face with others like him. Only they aren't half as kind, and are intent on "eating" his super powers.

The battle for his unlife is on. Can he make this second chance worth it?

Death Is My BFFLAD (Book Two Original Series) by katrocks247

(Bfflad- Best friends for life and death) Dear Reader, Let's start at the beginning shall we? I died. Oh no, not one of these stories again where someone angelic and heroic saves the damsel in distress. If only I was that lucky. My heart stopped beating. My lungs stopped working, my soul began to lift away... And then I was saved by a beautiful man with a kind heart and sparkles sprinkled around his head in a golden halo. A cunning, dazzling smile etched his angled features and his hair lay perfectly on his head like...black, sinful layers of pure cynical distrusting evil. Evil that was just waiting to onset a innocent girl as myself and allow her a short amount of time of happiness, and then finish her off when she became older. I'll give you a hint. The beginning of that description was slightly exaggerated. The Angel of Death. One of the only creatures known that was capable of settling the boundaries of heaven on earth. The only creature capable of making one of the Devil's darkest deals to my loving mother; a second chance for her daughter. This comes with consequences of course. Everything you know about Death is wrong. Death is not natural, Death is not normal, Death is not doleful, and Death is far from mercenary. Death blends into the shadows like coal against the most atramentous sky. Death walks the earth with his cursed, monstrous and exotic features, his enticing voice and betraying alluring eyes. Death deceives, scratches, and plays with your mind, until you slowly and painfully loose your grip on reality. He'll make you believe he's a different person, that there's a sliver hope for him. Hope for you. Death is close. 40 parts Complete

He saw her as she was attacked by several boys. Boys that smelled wrong, smelled tainted. He didn't think about anything as he killed them. He brought her home and took care of her. Little did he know that his actions put him in the crosshairs of the most powerful demon. He didn't care. It also put him into the crosshairs of the angels. He finds himself in the unenviable position of helping the angels out, not once, not twice but several times. Angels in the debt of a vampire, he never thought it would happen. But then again he never thought he'd become a vampire all that time ago either. Just how far did the angels debt go and how did he get himself into the mess to begin with? But the real question he asks himself is, just why the hell does he care if a human lives or dies?
