Lily, pregnant, is recently abandoned by her ex-boyfriend who ran off after learning her pregnancy. Lack of sleep has caused her to experience episodic memory loss and these days she seems to have many things that she doesn't recall. Alone in her apartment, she meets Andrew, a new tenant who moved in down the hall. He is bright and adventurous. The exact mix of vibrant neon colors that Lily needed in her suffocating gray life. Matilda has always wanted more-more freedom, more love, more life. But wanting more comes with a price. Trapped in a world that never truly saw her, she's spent years suffocating under expectations, heartbreak, and friendships laced with quiet betrayal. Her mother warns her about the people around her, but Matilda has always learned things the hard way. And love? Love has only ever been a cruel game she keeps losing. But she has a plan-be perfect, escape to a new city, and finally become the person she was meant to be. The dream is simple. The execution? Not so much. Because the closer she gets to freedom, the more the past tightens its grip on her. This is a story of ambition, heartbreak, and the hunger for something bigger than the life you were given. But when you get everything you ever wanted, what happens next?
