In May of 2003, Patrick Right is confronted with a strange request. By a complete stranger, he is asked to travel back in Time to December of 2002, befriend a girl by the name of Tasha Memory, and save her from a terrible accident, in exchange for "stolen" happiness. Patrick takes on the task, thinking that not only would it be easy, but also one last adventure before he destroys his Time Machine forever. In doing this, however, Patrick has to realize that he can destroy himself in a split second if he dares get too attached, or bring down the walls of the Universe. It all starts will a simple request.
