You stare at your palm, the blue petals that had emerged from your own body laying innocently on your skin as if it hadn't caused you to go through intense pain. You knew exactly what this meant. It didn't alarm you when you suddenly began throwing up lilies. You knew it was bound to happen due to the circumstances you were in. Yet you couldn't help but feel the dread creeping up over you as the pressure of making the right decision came.

You had caught the Hanahaki disease... and as if it wasn't already bad enough, you had apparently fallen in love with someone who didn't exist.

In most cases the diagnosed is known to experience excessive coughing sessions and throwing out flower petals of their beloved's favourite kind of flower accompanied by some blood and/or mucus. Some other symptoms might include chest pains, shortage of breaths and fainting. Methods of treatment and cure are yet to be discovered. Surprisingly, Wen Junhui of Seventeen is rumoured to be diagnosed with the disease and not so surprisingly, the rumours are true. Junhui does indeed cough up the blue primrose petals from time to time, Joshua's favourite kind. They suddenly stop by the time he had started coughing up the individual petals of 3-4 Primroses. Junhui is happy, with himself and his beloved who seems inclined to stay by his side. One unfortunate night and they are back again. Way more vigilant in their stance this time. Will he survive it this time as well?? TW: angst, character death (if you want to put it that way)

"I thought about yesterday, how his smile flustered me, the way his emerald green eyes matched the grin. The image flashed in my mind causing my stomach to flutter and my chest tighten up. It honestly made sense. But I'd only known him for a few days. But honestly... I liked him. I really did. It made fucking sense. All of a sudden, I felt a scratching in my throat and a cough coming up. I let it out. But the tickling in the back of my throat didn't go away. I covered my mouth with my hand, hacking away. Then, I smelled something sweet. It smelled like flowers, roses to be exact. It was really odd but I shrugged it off, closing my eyes, coughing. Then, I coughed one last time and felt something come out of my mouth. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion and opened my eyes. The sight in front of me practically made them bulge right of my head. It ends when the beloved returns their feelings (romantic love only; strong friendship is not enough), or when the victim dies. It can be cured through surgical removal, but when the infection is removed, the victim's romantic feelings for their love also disappear. Sonic started to cough up petals. Turns out he got a disease called Hanahaki disease, which means a specific flower starts to grow in the patient's chest, slowly suffocating them. This is caused by the patient dealing with unrequited love, it happens rarely and only with true love.. Will he be able to find a solution before the time runs out or will he suffocate to death.. :;PLEASE READ:; I think my book is the only one that actually thinks deeply into the hanahaki disease. It's not just about dying 'cause of love. It's a brutal torture day by day. It intervenes into the patient's life, messing up their routines and themselves both physically and mentally, which is why it will deal with the topic depression. I hope my book will give this bad feeling through and making it able to understand the topic's darkside and how brutal hanahaki can really be.
