He had a wonderful wife whom he loved deeper than the oceans, along with three beautiful children Mrs. Elizabeth Hamilton has bore him. Phillip; age five, Angelica; age three, and Alexander Jr.; age one. He had no idea what else God had in store for him and his wonderfully growing family on one windy winter day as his cold fingers broke the seal of a letter, gliding through the paper with ease, as if they were made solely for that purpose. What lied inside that letter wasn't what Alexander had been expecting. An old War Veteran who fought along side him just 5 years earlier had reached out to him- why him?- asking for his upmost mercy and empathy towards his situation, practically begging for his help. Would they even be ready as a family to add a 2 year old child to their bunch? One that wasn't even theirs? And How would his wife react, still trying to get their small bunch used to their third let alone he ask to add a fourth? He worried less of Eliza and more of what poor Edward would do if they responded with an ever so polite decline to his vulnerability. He sounded so helpless in his words, it had looked as if his hand must have been shaking ever so vigorously while he wrote the pleading letter, messily. What will they do? Well surely, who were they to turn away a child and father in need of help? All Rights Reserved
