Her walls, the walls that held her up, made her strong just... collapses and all she can do is nod. For Joey Lynch, the world was never anything but a rotten, cruel battlefield. Born on a holiday meant for light, he was instead forged in the darkness of an abusive legacy, forced to become a protector before he was even a boy. He is a creature of trauma and raw survival, forever battling the seductive, drowning pull of addiction that promises a final escape. But there has always been a light in the dark for him. Just a singular, defiant spark: Estella, his sister's best friend. She is a magnificent anomaly, a walking, breathing sunbeam in his grime-coated life. Her hair is a shock of bright, liquid silver, catching the light like spilled moonlight, framing a face that is dizzyingly, charmingly cute. Her eyes, wide and unnerving, are the colour of molten silver. When she stares up at Joey, meeting his trauma-hardened gaze with her impossible luminosity and a cheeky, uncompromising grin, he knows: she is trouble. The necessary kind. He has lost everything: his peace, his innocence, his stability. But she is the one thing that can never slip away. Not when he snarls and retreats like a cornered animal; she simply stares, her bright eyes unsettlingly steady, and deploys that silly, confident grin. God, he is putty in her hands. The temptation between them is a physical, humming wire, stretched taut for years. But when they finally give in-when the shadow reaches for the light, and the light does not pull away-things dare to take a turn for the worse. As Joey fights his darkest demons, trying to fend off his violent father and the relentless grip of addiction, he discovers that the girl who glows has been quietly burning, too. They need to decide if this fierce, hard-won love can genuinely tame all the anger and war within them... ... and if a single, silver light is truly the answer to all the world's rot.

The Peaky Blinders were a street gang based in Birmingham, England, which operated from the 1880s until the 1920s. The group engaged in robbery, violence, racketeering, illegal bookmaking, and control of gambling with razor blades sewn into these caps. Everyone knew who they were. Everyone could pinpoint the family of mixed Irish Travellers with Romani origins from the very beginning. Everyone was scared. Except one. Although one could argue that she was cautious.... Several months after the end of the First World War, Aurora Wood found herself in a symbiotic relationship with the street gang and, most importantly, their ambitious, cunning crime boss, Tommy Shelby. It stemmed from more than just protection, a need for survival that the woman had because she was one of their own. In a way. Starting with the debt her father accumulated from Tommy. But as suppressing disorder and uprising persisted, the woman with fiery eyes started to adapt. And when one adapted, one became dangerous. Survival became a need, and regardless of Shelby's ambitions to build on the business empire he created and dispatch anyone who gets in his way, there was something about Aurora that he couldn't let go of. Could the enigma be solved for Tommy's sake, or will she escape from rising to the challenge of what she was meant to do? A/N: I don't own Peaky Blinders or any characters and places in this television series. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contain. I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is to establish a creative outlet. I only own Aurora Wood and what pertains to her character story.
