"Twisted tree with a torn smile. It beckons the children. Across the street and down the forest infested hill. Deep in the undergrowth where the dying lay, buried by leaf and shrub. Panicking grasps and bloodied nails reach for salvation. The children are never seen again. The parents' values twist and alter into desperation, sacrifice and malice. Hate for their gods, for each other. The school bus arrives empty. But also full. Full of dormant prowlers. A new town, boarded and desolate, spreading its famine. Shhhh... someone lurks outside. He's not nice. Mommy will find me. Mommy?" A story from the perspective of several survivors battling against all odds to survive in a world where god has abandoned his children and the trees bleed as the children are devoured. Quarrel, hatred and despair fill the minds of our characters as they seek answers or just simply a way back home. The narrative follows each character closet from their points of view as they decide whether to save, love or slaughter others around them whilst surviving day by day in a horrific environment where hell itself dances in the bushes behind you. Content Warning-This story is meant for mature audiences. It features adult language, references, situations, sexual content, graphic violence, and gore. Fantasy, horror, and science fiction are my favorite genres to read. They are also my favorite to write. I've enjoyed writing since I won my first writing contest in the fourth grade. That was over twenty-five years ago and I haven't shared a sinlge word of it. Imposter syndrome is a bitch! Well, I finally managed to pull the trigger. Here is "O Negative". It's a mix of all of my favorite genres. I've mixed a fantasy, based on present-day Earth, with plenty of graphic horror and wrapped it all up within a world driven by the technological advancements that only can be obtained from millions of years of civilation. A small group of strangers find themselves surviving in a decimated world. It's bad enough to be stranded in a no-name town, but things become surreal when you realize the vast majority of humanity has died...it becomes terrifying when you realize you aren't that lucky to be alive. "Survivor's Guilt" isn't a thing when you find yourself the sole food source for an entire group of beings that no longer need to hide in the shadows. Man is no longer at the top of the food chain...they are now the cattle.
