I didn't want to be without her... Her beautiful face, infectious smile, her long, lean body, and the way she made me feel. But as time passed, and in the cruel way that familiarity and knowledge can sometimes work together against your dreams, the way I saw her changed, and how I saw myself. I slowly woke to the severe reality of our relationship, chosen in the hope of living out an unfulfilled ideal, and the way she made me feel became inescapable. I willed the strength to be away from her.... On the pages that follow, I've attempted to describe events, some dated back as far as 25 years ago, that led to failed relationships, my broken marriage, and a temporary collapse of what had been a productive life.

Hello, I don't write to inform you or to show you my life story. I write to show that you can move on from the past and let go. The only way you can move on it is to forgive yourself and the people who have hurt your soul. I write for the damaged, to let them know I see them suffering in silence. This book is about overcoming the hells of life and letting yourself enjoy the good things that you have. I wrote this when I was going through a really hard time in my own life. This book was my safe place. It's a place for me to express my feelings and to be 100% open with myself. I hope this makes you think about what you can do to start healing and how we have an effect on others. Treat yourself kindly, and be gentle.

Ugh! Work! Yeah, I know. Who likes working? You know unless you have your dream job or something. Yeah, I don't. Not yet anyway. But I presume this not-journal to be way less dramatic and funny. I don't see myself finding friends like I did in school and university. Even if I do get friends, they're gonna be grown-ups. Eww! And yes, I'm well aware I'm a grown up too. But even though I look like I'm twenty-one, my mind works like an eight-year-old. FYI, I'm older than twenty-one, so... Okay, job not-journal, here we go!
