After the events with Winn Duffy and Robert Quarrels, Elizabeth Hardstead was admitted to the Lexington Hospital due to her injuries. After being released and falling asleep, she wakes up back home in Illinois thinking everything was fine until that night she doesn't return to Lexington Kentucky, instead she awoke to her bedroom. Day after day this continued to happen when it dawned on her. Everything was back to normal.
6 months later Elizabeth gained her EMT license and has a job at the local hospital for their ambulance. On a cold December night, she responds to a call near the local bar thinking another drunk who passed out. Instead, she finds the one man she has dearly missed.
Now Raylan Givens is stuck in Elizabeth's world after being fataly shot back in Harlan County Kentucky, and now has to learn to adapt to this new life, while remembering the past and all his friends back at the office and while dealing with the current problems now.
