His Last Stand

27 parts Ongoing Mature

Liz never expected to start over on a small-town farm, and Randy never thought he'd be betrayed by the people he trusted most. But after a road trip to Iowa, everything changes-Randy gets dumped and finds out his twin brother got his ex pregnant. Looking for an escape, he agrees to stay with Liz for two weeks, helping her get the farm up and running. What starts as two wounded souls rebuilding their lives turns into something deeper. But when a brutal fight with his family leaves Randy with nowhere to go, one drunken night leads to an impulsive marriage. They agree to roll with it-after all, the military benefits aren't too bad. Then Randy is deployed again, and when he returns, everything is different. Injured in action, he comes home missing a leg, and Liz is the only one there to pick up the pieces. As she battles her own demons, they must learn if love can grow in the hardest of circumstances. A slow-burn romance about healing, heartbreak, and finding yourself after trauma.
