Adrian Deroy and Elijah Pavlov both have a serious problem: Their girlfriend and boyfriend. Elijah simply wants his girlfriend, Vivian Hayes, one of the most popular girls in the Juniors, to give him more attention. To treat him more like a boyfriend, rather than a friend with benefits. Adrian's boyfriend, Caleb Morgan, however has been cheating on her with Lia Jessen, coincidentally Vivian's friend, for the last 2 months! They both break up with their significant others, now single and are both irked about the situation - they needed to get them back somehow. One day in Science, though, they are the ones singled out and are left without partners. They decide to partner up and start to talk. They learn that they both have the same situation . . . and similar ideas. They plan to make their exs jealous, by "dating" each other! "It's just a game", "We're playing house.", "Nothing real", they say . . . but is it really?
