She took a deep breath, staring into the mirror. Her jaded emerald eyes looking back at her. 

'It's just hair, Harriet. You don't need it.'

She muttered this to herself as she picked up the scissors. 

'You're not Harriet anymore. You're Harry.'

She -he- corrected firmly. He took a fistful of long raven hair and hacked it off with a satisfying snip. It fell into the sink, prompting a smile from Harry's face.
