When you write, draw, or make a mark on your skin, it appears on the skin of whom you are destined to be with. Most are lucky, when the pair is ready they find a way to meet up. But there are some children in the world whose parents refuse to let them see the markings, afraid of them growing up or getting their heart broken. Frank Iero knows the pain of never being able to see yourself. But Gerard Way knows a worse pain: to write and get no response, to try to meet or at least get to know them only to never get a reply. He's gone his entire life thinking he was destined to me alone. So he draws without care, writes reminders, messages, and cuts lines Frank never sees.

At Gerard's worst moment, he meets someone. Someone he tries not to get attached to, but fails miserably. He can't deal with another heartbreak, but when Frank pulls him off the ledge of the final building he ever intended to enter, he falls in a different way than planned.
