Kat and her ex-stepbrother Jay are starting their junior year at McKinley High after a year of tragedy and heartbreak. Just as they're stepping back into their normal lives, the military attempts to blow up the East Wing of the high school.

Before they know it, every teenager in the school is a carrier of a deadly respiratory virus that kills any post-pubescent body even when airborne.
After a year in McKinley, under military quarantine, the worst seems to have dawned on them. Darkness and death come at the two from all sides. The only way to survive is to join a gang.

Kat's past puts her at an odds with multiple people. Can she overcome her grief and losses to survive alongside Jay and two mysterious brothers?

This is fanfiction based off of the official novels created by Lex Thomas. I hope you can enjoy, even if you haven't read the original books (which are absolutely amazing!). Fans of horror, violence, action, romance, and dystopian novels will like both this fanfiction as well as the original series of novels.
