After an accident and tragic outcome forces Bella Strange and her large family to leave Arizona, she and her siblings struggle to fit into a normal high school and hide their secrets from their newfound friends and classmates. They soon learn they are not the only new family in town, or the strangest. Meeting the quiet and closed off Jasper Hale after a sour encounter with his irritable brother, Edward, Bella finds herself in a whirlwind of mystery as she sets out to figure out the Cullen family secrets and fight her conflicting emotions. Meanwhile, old threats long ago fought by her former heroic parents resurface and threaten the newly peaceful life the Strange family is trying to build.
