in exchange for fionna's release, marshall promises to grant magic woman's desire. though, if he doesn't keep his end of the bargain, the thing most important to him will be snatched away. 

it just so happens that this important thing is fionna. 

when fionna can't focus and gumball interferes, things take a turn for the worst and lives are put at stake.
