Just a short poem dedicated to my grandmother whose birthday is today. I hope she can spend more years with us even if she's always hot-headed. All lolas are very much like that, i can imagine every filipino lola in a pixie haircut that's 4ft tall and always wondering where they are in a mall.

"Change is the only constant in this world", the famous line na madalas nating maririnig from random individuals. Just like me, dati mababasa ko lang post niya sa twitter at instagram buo na ang araw ko. Pero ngayon ni pangalan niya ayoko marinig. It hurts that it kills my whole being. She's been the air that I breathe, the water that I drink, the nutrients of my food, the reason of my smile, the music that I'm listening, she's been my everything. My world revolves around her. He said with a monotone voice, the quick transition scared me, from being hopeful to being dominant. If she'll learn our history, she'll then understand. Pinalis ko yung kamay nitong nakakapit na naman sa braso ko. "Compose yourself, Ember. I don't like you. You're just like a sister to me. Someone I had to protect with my life." I caught the way those words cut through her. It's visible in the same set of lifeless coal eyes that I am most familiar with. "Bakit?" I stared at her blankly. "Atleast tell me what you don't like about me." "That's exactly why it hurts the way it hurts." Napangiti ako ng mapait. "You have too many questions, too many words, in your head. But those will be left unsaid. Like me, you have to suffer through the intricacy of feeling too much every single day of your life. Every day when I see her walking into my coffee shop, I always see the color of yellow on her. It's like she's walking with a ray of sunshine behind her back. And every time she gets her order from me, I always see her pretty smile, and it always brightens up my day. Little did I know, the attraction that I felt towards her, I thought it was just a simple crush. But then I ended up loving her in a way that I didn't expect.
