She moved to Avonlea at age 13, and has been dreaming of her 16th birthday ever since she heard about soulmates. Gilbert Blythe had a large family at first. Now he is left with nothing but his weakening father. He has been living in Avonlea for a very long time, and has never paid much attention to soulmates. Until the day he meets a certain girl with bright red hair and a knack for getting into trouble.
