I was never the damsel in distress, but the damsel who created the distress. I was irresistible and every boy's fantasy. I was an overachiever and I always got what I wanted; my father made sure of that.
He had the purest heart and the kindest soul. He saw past my vanity and I fell in love with him. But, I betrayed him and my lies ruined our lives. Apologizing wasn't enough, because what I had broken was beyond repair.
Is this a love story? I don't know. All I know, is this story - it's imperfect but it's mine.
PS: Though this short story is inspired by characters in the drama Yeh Dil Mera, written by Farhat Ishtiaq; it can be read as a standalone.
