Just as she's come of age, the only life Roa has ever known turns out to be a cover-up. The only people she ever knew had lied about her entire life and her heritage. She always knew she was different just by the color of her wings, but to find out she had been lied to by who she thought her parents were brought a heavy blow.
So out of anger, Roa goes off with the mysterious stranger who claims he came to take her back to her true family. Roa leaves behind the only life she's ever known to embark on a dangerous journey to find her heritage.
But everything comes back in sharp reality: her safe world had been protected, and now she's facing the dangers of the real world. The only person she has left is the mysterious stranger, and Roa doesn't know much more than his name.
