An almost forgotten enemy from his wicked days as Lenosticar, one he trapped in a magic mirror thousands of years before, has found him at last.

Boone must cope with the death of his son and the sudden invasion from the fleeing workers. A new villain, a cruel man from Alfie's circle named Ned Hogg, takes control of the town as his armed men start their reign of terror. Do the Knights of Copper Hills stand a chance against the very real threat of iron and steel? Will they need to make a deal with the Devil to survive?

Darwin wakes in Ogden Castle, but not for long. Perdita commits him to the same mental ward his father had succumbed to years prior. Will he lose everything he's gained? Who is the mysterious Dr. Meade? And what is Cathequil?
