Niklaus Odinson lives in Storybrooke as a lawyer and a businessman. But in another life...he went by another name; Loki Laufeyson, the God of Mischief...and the Original Dark One. But in Storybrooke...he keeps undercover to keep attention drawn away from him. For thousands and thousands of years...he has been the Dark One before Nimue...before Gorgon...before Zoso...and before Rumplestiltskin...in secret. Rumplestiltskin...is the current Dark One...but that didn't stop Loki from duplicating the powers of the Dark One for himself after the title went on to Nimue. Loki is all about power and being respected...if that means staying the Dark One...So be it. However, nobody knows about Loki being the Dark One...and there's no way to stop him anymore...given that the dagger no longer bears his name on the blade. He's the most powerful being to ever walk the planet. More powerful than Rumple, the Evil Queen, or any other person with magic in their blood. It also helps that he's a being from another realm; being an Asgardian already makes him superior to everyone else; being the Original Dark One just makes him even more terrifying. What happens when the son of Regina Mills brings a beautiful stranger into town? Will Loki stay the infamous villain or will he change to ensure the safety of the town?

Takes place from OUAT Season 1 to Season 7

I only own Loki Laufeyson, his story, and anyone else I decide to introduce in this story. I do not own any characters from ABC's ONCE UPON A TIME.

Part One of A Prince's Promise Series Somewhere in one of the many alternate realities of the universe, there is a Loki whose life as an Asgardian prince is changed forever when he meets you. Now I don't know about you, my fellow readers, but seeing Y/N in the story is weird and detracts from the story to me. This story IS a LokixReader fanfiction but I have opted to write it in first person to help readers immerse themselves in the story a bit more naturally. This idea came to me before Endgame came out and stemmed from wanting Loki to be happy in at least ONE reality.
