Different stories and ships with the same problem, careful though, they are written very differently and the emotions change as well. Sherlock has always been a bit blue inside and this seemed like one of those days where the universe needed to shut up but it didn't...it pushed him to the limit, when Jim threatens his family, he has two choices...either let his family get killed or kill himself.
