Following a misunderstanding childhood sweethearts, Louis and Charlotte split up while she was away at college. Seven years later, they are reunited at the funeral of an old friend. Life, however, has not been easier for either of them. Charlotte has fled from an abusive relationship and Louis is struggling after being medically discharged from the army. This could be a second chance for them but maybe there's too much between them?

Maybe this was what it felt like to love someone who never quite stayed in one place. Maybe this was what it meant to fall in love with a man built on shifting versions of himself - some of them soft, some of them savage, and none of them safe. Maybe I had chosen this the moment I walked into his world. And now? Now I didn't know how to walk back out.

"Could you really love two different people at once? Could you split your heart in half?" The topic of love had always seemed like a foreign subject to me. I didn't really think I have ever been in love. Of course, I loved someone, but not the kind of love that made me feel butterflies inside. Then suddenly, the love was there. It was real and rare, but far more complicated.

When did I start feeling like this? When did I start feeling all these new emotions I never thought I would have. How come I always feel like... P.S. This is a short story. I hope you like it though!
