It's surprising how much people depend on sound to understand things, for what reason is always a mystery.
I always had wondered what it would be like to speak and not just use writing and sign language to share my thoughts and ideas, would my voice be loud or soft? Smooth like a sword or rather rough like sand? Maybe my voice is high pitched but it could also be deep and monotonous.
But that's just mere fantasy, because I was born without a voice box.
In my clan, the Shizukani clan, having no voice is special and those without one are highly respected. The Shizukani clan was a much wanted ally to any nation, but the once great clan is now scattered throughout the nations and are almost unheard of nowadays, since then my brother, Shoku, and I manage on our own by traveling to different villages.
Every village we travel to is the same, I'm left unnoticed.
Until I met a boy my age.
He instantly noticed me.

Note after the prologue the timeline begins about three months before Naruto Shippuden.

As a infant, Shinki is unable to control his blessed power and often wreck damage to his home with his sands flying around, destroying everything it touches. Soon, his parents was victims and got hurt by his sands. Unable to take care of him, Shinki was abandoned at the age of 3. Still unable to control his power, he often hurt innocent people everywhere he go and people feared him. The news soon alarm the Office Building and Gaara went into action. A/N: I haven't seen many stories about Shinki and thought I should write a story about his life based on my imagination (and maybe throw a little Gaara's childhood in there). Shinki is my 2nd most favorite character in the new generation behind his lovely cousin Shikadai so I thought, what better way to show my love to him than writing a story about his life?
