This story is a fiction base on the premise of "What if the Philippines is under a Constitutional Monarchy?".
[Background]
A long time ago, before the archipelago was named Philippines after Philip II of Spain, the islands were ruled by chiefs, nobles, lakans, rajahs, datus, and sultans. Different kingdoms from different island clusters have their own rulers.
When the Spaniards colonized the archipelago, the rulers were stripped off of their powers. Some were killed, some yielded to become principalities under the Spanish rule, while some hid but most fought to give power back to the people.
Behind the colonizers, the remaining rulers pledged to unite for the sake of freeing back the islands. Throughout the colonization period, noble clans planned to breed a bloodline containing almost all main ethnic groups of the archipelago, aimed to stand as the symbol of unity all over the islands. Revolts to the foreign invaders were always backed by the clans.
When independence was attained, it was decided that the Philippines would combine as one kingdom and run as a constitutional monarchy. The House of Kaisa sat as heads of state, while a prime minister was elected to be the head of government.
Although the country has been set free of Spanish rule, the archipelago and the people's name stuck. The Kingdom of the Philippines and the Filipino people.
At the present, the Philippines is still reigned by the Kaisa Dynasty.
