As Ruth stared at the man blankly, he let out a chuckle, bringing her out of her thoughts.

"Oh sorry! I must have zoned out. What were you saying? But first, I don't mean to sound mean or something, but who are you?

The man smiled affectionately at Ruth and said, "My name is Joseph. You can call me Mr. Joseph." Ruth watched him as he took a seat in front of her and said, "So you must be one of those assistants whom Mrs. Abbot calls to help her with the play every year."
