Y/N didn't have an amazing childhood, heck she had a terrible childhood, and with the war going on between 2 of the most powerful nations, life was painful for her. Even though she had a bad childhood, she still wanted a distraction so she joined the military. 

Levi also had a terrible childhood, and joined the military once he grew up also as a distraction. He and Y/N faced many of the same traumas and pain, but they both dealt with it differently. Levi tried to close of his heart, while Y/N hid behind a mask. How will these 2 open up and finally heal their wounds all while also fighting the most painful and bloody war.
