Interstellar travel involves very large, complex ships. While the ships are as diverse as the species that use them, there is one constant. Rungrats live in the ships and maintain them. They pay little attention to what nation or people the ship belongs to, only that they do their job and do it well. Gris is a rungrat on an embassy ship that encountered a broken down ship from Earth. As this was Earth's first attempt at interstellar travel, the ship's crew knew little about the existence of cultures outside of their own planet. But with the help of Gris and his friends, the two cultures learn more about each other as Earth's interstellar progress advances.

Highest Rank: #1 Alien 6-21-21 WARNING: This contains Xenophile (Alien / Human smut) If you don't find interest then that, this is not the place to be. Thanks! Or Skip the chapter. 18+ ______________________ The year is 3999. Nearly a thousand years after a alien infection was set loose by the intelligent lifeforms know as Irinaut. No one knows exactly how they were able to make such a infection, but it was capable of destroying nearly all life on Earth. Those who couldn't hide or make it to the ships to escape their home planet, were left for the Irinauts. These alien lifeforms were capable of controlling human bodies, infecting them with their black dust, impregnating fertile human female's, and growing the Irinaut's massive companions, the Yeti's, a less evolved version of the Irinaut. Earth is gone. Nothing more then a ball of dust. After the people fled on ships, they traveled to their new hope. It was a place of solitude. The human race was able to flee from the foreign infection, but for how long? Luna was frozen on the ship. For nearly a 200 years, their ship had traveled. Many people had been placed in a cryogenic state. That of which kept them from aging as they made their way out of the infection. For them, a place of safety, The Solar Sun. The Solar Sun space ship was the closest landing unit in the solar system. Many others would have to be traveled to after refueling and preparing for another two or three centuries of being in a cryogenic state. For Luna, the girl hopes that space would be her escape from the aliens that destroyed their Earth, but that was only the beginning. Upon arrival, the ship is found infested. Luna and a small team of scientists had come in hopes for finding a cure for the strange virus, only to find the virus had taken over most of The Solar Sun, following a few escaped Irinauts. The Solar Sun is their last hope, and their last escape from these beings, but what's to be found there will change everything.

Volume 1 of CANAISIS ∞ The Last Living Ship trilogy (Chronicles of Canaisis 1) Can a ship, born to sail the ocean of stars to ensure Humankind's survival, save her Captain from the void within his own heart? ∞ ∞ ∞ Canaisis is the last of her kind, a Living Ship forged with Mankind's most advanced technology and artificial intelligence. Together with her Captain, she sails the cold, dark void between stars at multiple times the speed of light-to ensure Humanity's survival. As Canaisis agrees to carry a corporation's entire personelle to their new colony planet, Captain Gareth Levant finds his solitude interrupted by a new culture and a woman whose Gift threatens to unlock the pain caged within his heart. A pain he's carried since before the day he first launched... centuries ago. As if that is not enough, something about Earth's Citizens sanctioning the corporation's relocation rings falsely with undertones that has Captain Levant on edge. He will do anything to keep his ship and passengers safe. Captain Levant loves his ship, as any good captain does since the beginning of time-whether with wind, sail and ocean waves as in the days of old, or in the vast depths of space. But if Canaisis were able to return that love, could it burn bright enough to light the way through the void within the Captain's own heart? Or does it require the Gift of human touch? ∞ ∞ ∞ By @kemorgan65 and @RavenRock2112 ∞ ∞ ∞ A prequel to the pre-story of #ShadowOfThePastTrilogy ∞ The Displaced. ∞ ∞ ∞ SEQUELS: Canaisis ∞ A Captain's Journey Canaisis ∞ A Shard Of Code ∞ ∞ ∞ REVIEW by @Ray_Of_Sunshine9 "...loved the overall themes within the story, and what it meant for me as a person - a mission of delivering hope and finding a new home. ... Journal Entry: SB-0001 December 18th, 2031 It has been about five months since the attack, and our meager fleet of ships are clinging to life. It all started with an interstellar signal. Sometimes, superstition has it right. It might not have been wrong to compare that dreadful signal to the blaring of the trumpets signaling the end of times. By the time they arrived, they knew us as if they had been watching us all along. Their invasion was swift, precise, and purpose-driven, ruined only by our own short-sighted counterattack that delayed the inevitable. And, during that delay, a small fraction of humanity managed to escape into the stars. With our homeworld of Earth gone in the blink of an eye, we are now forced to survive on modified cruiseliner starships and cling to life as our pursuers relentlessly hound us, the varying perils of space claw at our very existence, and our own simmering tensions threaten to break into a roiling turmoil. However, if there is one thing that gives me hope as I write this journal entry, it is that humanity can accomplish even the seemingly impossible through cooperation and willpower. Our story unfolding will put both of those to the test... Cover Illustrated by CherryInTheSun
