Belladona is a Hell-Bird. She can sprout terrifying wings of obsidian and fire from her back with a mere thought. Her whole life has been spent with her grandparents in the quiet hidden island of Azba in the middle of the sea.
When in an attempt to escape the small quiet island she is left stranded in the middle of the ocean that years before claimed the life of her mother she must turn to a brazen and loyal crew of pirates, who pulled her from the sea, and whose Captain has dark watchful eyes threaten to reveal her secret.
Raziel Martin and his crew are top of the line pirates, their trade? Monster hunting. They hunt and kill the things that go bump in the night, specializing in Hell-Bird, Sirens, and High Fae; the most dangerous creatures of all. But what will they do when they spot a mysterious girl dressed in the traditional garb of a "Hell-Bird" but a smooth olive-skinned back?
