Pierce Harrington was six when the biggest and bloodiest rebellion in all of human history took place. It lasted two horrific years, but at the end the rebels had won. Not that it was a great win, however; because although the government was overthrown, all that remained was miles of ruins.
Flash forward ten years, and America is still barely getting by. Pierce has been on his own ever since his parents were killed in the rebellion. His parents were more than just another deceased, however; they were the leaders of the rebellion, and Pierce is expected to follow their footsteps.
And he does just that. Pierce has created a community of kids who have also lost their parents. He is the leader; a respected, loved one. That's not the only thing that makes him special- he has the ability to control and manipulate minds, turning him not just an extraordinary person, but a dangerous one.
Everything changes when Pierce gets knocked out one day, and is left with a serious head injury. Adele, a young legacy with the power to control bodies, but not even close to strong enough to reveal them, takes Pierce to the closest healer she can find; the parents of Kendall. And that is just the start.
Six minds will be connected, each holding more power than thought imaginable. Six minds will create a new government, only to receive horrific threats to destroy all they've worked for; all the people they've managed to save. Six minds must stop a second rebellion from breaking out, not only for the sake of them, but for the knowledge of knowing the thousands of deaths from merely a decade ago weren't in vain.
