Gerard never really had many friends. Whatever he tried, he was never able to impress his mother and stepfather, leaving him to become withdrawn and increasingly unique. Always curious about what it was like to have a creative friend, Gerard meets Frank and his free spirited mother.
During the time they spend together, Gerard tries to help Frank, filling in the many empty holes, surprisingly filling one up with himself.

Gerard finds it intriguing when he watches him play for how he gets lost in the music. Gerard ends up drawing Frank and when Frank finds out, he wants to get to know Gerard as Gerard wants to know him as well.
