Cia Briller is heiress to the largest interstellar business corporation outside Human Alliance Space central government planets. Beautiful, popular, successful and brilliant, she has her whole life mapped out for her, beginning with studying at university and taking over as the next CEO for her Grandfather's company. But when she is kidnapped by mercenaries and sold to smugglers, everything starts going drastically wrong, starting with a very powerful and very sarcastic artificial entity downloading himself onto her BrainComp implant.

Now sharing the same bioware, Cia and Nova also end up sharing everything else, including an encounter with a hot-as-hell smuggling boss; liberating a couple of ex-slaves; helping love-sick jungle koi fish; repairing and appropriating a crashed alien superluminal prototype; and adopting a spaghetti loving fuzz ball enamored with shoe laces. All the while staying one step ahead of the very people who stole her from her home in the first place.

Along with taking on a growing team of miscreants, Cia and her ever learning AI Nova discover what it means to live a life leading a team of miscreants isn't so different from running a multi-sector corporation anyhow.
