Edward Thomas "Tom" Hardy (born September 15, 1977, Hammersmith, London, UK) is an English actor, producer, and screenwriter. BAFTA winner and Academy Award nominee.
He became famous for the film "Stuart: Past Life", where he played the role of drug addict and homeless Stuart Shorter, which brought him a BAFTA nomination. Also known for his main and secondary roles in such films as "Bronson", "Rock-n-Roller", "Inception", "Warrior", "Legend", "Common Fund",
"The Drunkest District in the World", " The Dark Knight: The Legend Rises, Locke, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Survivor, Dunkirk and Venom. Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE, 2018).
Early Life:
Tom, the only child in the family, was born in Hammersmith and raised in London, East Sheen. His mother, Anne, was an Irish Catholic artist, and his father, Edward (Chips) Hardy, wrote comedies.
Hardy studied at the Reeds and Tower House schools, at the Richmond Theater School, and then enrolled at Drama Center London (where Tom studied under the guidance of a teacher who trained Anthony Hopkins). He began his career in military dramas, playing the rank and file of the US Army John Yanovech in the series "Brothers in Arms" (2001).
The film debut took place in the military thriller Ridley Scott's "Black Hawk" (2001).

At the age of 19, he became the winner of the "Breakfast's Find Me" beauty contest, receiving a monetary reward and a contract with a modeling agency as a prize.
