Kumari lives in Cevalon, as princess of fire and sun, but has never been outside the castle. Jae is the son of a conspiracist, who, when he was still alive, warned him to trust no one. Chiro is an illusionist, paid by the king and queen to put on shows for the princess at night.
The three teenagers have their worlds collide when Jae shows a map to the princess, a map to a hidden secret kingdom called Ruisea, lost to snow and time. Kumari wants to go there more than anything, but Chiro wouldn't dare let the princess get hurt thanks to some scruffy village ruffian. And the king and queen do not approve of their daughter's desire to travel, but she goes anyway, when one day the kingdom wakes up to find their crops have frozen and there are clouds on the horizon...
Ruisea is lost, and only this map shows its existence. But Kumari thinks that there is one way to reach the ice kingdom - Ocean Express, said to be able to take anyone anywhere they want to go. And so the trio boards the train to take what will surely be a long and exciting journey...
All while being dogged by the bounty hunter Sho, paid by Kumari's parents, to bring her back home no matter what.

I made my way to the kitchen as usual and opened the fridge and grabbed a drink. My mom was usually in here,preparing a snack for my brother and I but today she wasn't. To think of it,it was too quiet around here I then proceeded to go upstairs to my room as I know my brother has soccer practise and my dad is at work. I walked upstairs and passed my father's office and I heard some talking I then heard laughing,a woman laughing to be specific "Scott stop!" She laughed once again And i knew that,that was not my mother's voice. My heart broke when I realised my dad didn't actually love my mother. He was a cheater and after this i lost all respect for him. I stood outside the door for a good 10 minutes debating whether I should storm In there or just keep quiet about the whole thing. The laughing and talking went on and I decided it would be best if I walked away. Tears threatened to fall as I went to my bedroom. I actually looked up to my father. He was my superman. All eyes in the castle, and kingdom, turn to Adellia expecting her to step into her mother's shoes. However, both women aren't ready to give up their lives just yet. Wanting to learn more about her kingdom, and the people of it, before she is forced into an arranged marriage and the throne for the rest of her life, Adellia ventures out into the kingdom to do just that. While there, Adellia meets a young blacksmith by the name of Faron and gets sucked into a plot that goes against her, and her mother's wishes. Will she be able to venture into the unknown, and survive out of the watchful eye of the palace? This book has sexual reference and mentions of things that could possibly be triggering to some - e.g. young motherhood and loss of a parent. This work is usually split into two parts, but I have decided to take down the second part, and consider the first part, one book for now, so I can work on the second.
