(Y/FN Y/LN) has wanted nothing more from her life than to become a star bright enough to illuminate the whole world, and she has the gift of music and dance to help make her dream come true just like the many talented women who had come before her. Her journey takes her from her small town in the US to the illustrious playground for the offspring of the elite, better known as Ouran Academy. She planned to keep her head low and hyper fixate on her goal, trying her best not to stick out any more than she knew she would, but a certain group of handsome boys with way too much time on their hands turn all of her plans on their heads. Within a blink of an eye (thanks in no part to a certain prying shadow king) her reputation transforms from the mysterious, "exotic" (she groans every time she hears that word) exchange student to the rising star of Ouran academy.

I decided to do a black reader insert fic because I don't see many of them in the fandoms I've been in for most of my teens, and I wanted to turn that around because as a dark skin black girl myself, I know how much it can suck to not be represented in fanfic. I hope you all can find refuge in this fic. <3

And before you ask, yes, there will be plenty of R&B and Rap in this fic. This fic is set in modern time, so expect a mix of classics and newer hits ;)
