"Today is the day." I said to myself as I looked at my bedroom and vacant storage closet one last time. I'm finally thirteen today, and I've been dreading this day since I could walk. One by one, when children turn 13 years old, we are kicked out of our cozy homes, and sent to play in the Vibrance Tournament. The game we play for our lives, and hope to win. 

I stepped upon the grass, outside my old home, aka the dorms I lived in. Every younger "sibling" I had watched sadly as I walked towards the capital. I could see my foggy breath, and chill bumps on my skin as I walked timidly up the capital stairs. 

This is where my old life ended, and the new one began.
