Shéng Xia was born in a clan of deities, known for their combat prowess, military tactics and visionary wisdom.
Every offspring of this clan bore unique names with auspicious meanings. Shéng Xia had meant "Glorious Dawn".
Glorious. Glory. What more "glory" could such a House have had other than the glory of a victorious battle ?
In the beginning, the battlefield was her home. Though tame in speech and manner, she was the being the Nichizong would pray to before entering the field. Crimson blood, crystal streams and white camellias blossomed in her wake.
...
Until her last war.

Something had triggered the famed deity of Victory and Divine Blessings' removal from the battlefield.
The Nichizong wonder why their prayers go unheard. They wonder,

"Where has Shéng Xia gone ?"

Descendants of the Dragon, Book One: The Mandate of Heaven

29 parts Complete

Following the fall of the Chinese empire, the gods ascended into the heavens, and the Dragon Throne, which had served as the tie between the mortal and immortal worlds, sat empty for many decades. The world was far from perfect, but life continued on without the gods. The mythical Jade City-the last refuge for those seeking to practice the old traditions-came to accept that age of the empire and of the gods was over. That is, until Heaven chose the unlikeliest of children as the Heirs to the throne. To save China from an ancient evil so terrible, it almost conquered Heaven, the Heirs must restore the throne and restore the gods. But can they accomplish this task, while simultaneously battling each other for the right to rule that is the Mandate of Heaven? Four have been marked by Heaven, but only one can be emperor.
