Being the best comes with a terrible price. Slade Wilson, AKA Deathstroke, is among the finest assassins and mercenaries in the world, but every relationship he’s ever had has ended in carnage and betrayal, whether with father or brother, wife and child, friend and ally. Of all those he’s ever cared about, only two are left.
One is his daughter Rose, known among costumed adventurers as Ravager. She’s a member of the Teen Titans, but she’s never felt entirely at home among them or anywhere else. Even though her father trained her mercilessly and dosed her with the same serum that made him what he is before he turned on her, he's all the family she has.
The other is Yukime Kuwano, a professional henchman who seems to live and breathe secrets. She’s been his lover for two years, and she’s searching for something in this world or the next.
Slade wants his daughter to continue her training and follow in his footsteps. Knowing how little Rose trusts him, he's come up with the perfect bait to lure her back: someone she can trust. A new mother. Yukie is all the things he isn't--warm, reliable, and kind.
Yukie thinks she's taking her lover on vacation to Japan as a way of saying goodbye to both him and the world. Her interest in the supernatural is leading her places where there is no turning back. But when Rose unexpectedly joins them in Tokyo, they bond so quickly and so naturally it's like they're already a family, just as Slade planned.
The question now is: Who will get what they want, and what are they willing to sacrifice to get it?

Many people say that time heals every open wound, that's a lot of bullshit. Wounds over time we hide them, we try to forget they exist but they are always there waiting for the right moment to reopen, reappear from the past at the moment you thought you had moved on. Victoria Thane has just moved from Austin to Phoenix with her stepmother Cynthia Morales. Contrary to what you might think, she was not at all excited about the move to come because even though she did not have many friends the few she did have she did not want to leave them behind. Arriving at the new school, as expected, no one spoke to her. She seemed to be a reserved, shy girl, struggling to settle in. Later, however, she manages to make friends with a boy who, she does not know it, but will take her to the bottom of an abyss from which alone it will be difficult to get out. Slade Thatcher is a typical American movie playboy; all the girls in the school always fall at his feet and try to get his attention. He, however, is always cold and aloof with everyone, trusting no one but his two best friends from childhood. He has always lived in Phoenix with his mother Dasy, a lady who had to raise him alone after her now-ended affair with his father and who still struggles to get away from a bottle of alcohol. Slade is mysterious and the thought of having feelings other than anger and frustration gives him disgust. But the meeting with the new student will be the event that will make him change his mind.

I turn around and tackle Luke to the ground pinning down his shoulders I take my right arm (my good arm) and punch the living daylights out of him. "Say that again Luke I dare you." I make a fist still pinning down his shoulder with my left arm. Luke rolls over, and now he's sitting on top of me. "Am I'm going to have to destroy you right here?" Luke chuckles. Peter steps forward, but I shake my head basically telling him not to interfere. I hit my head on Luke's, and he falls back. "Try me, Luke, try me." I get up and look at his weak body. Nini helps him up as Luke seems a little wobbly. "You okay T?" Peter asks. "I'm great; I've been dying to do that." I grin. "Hey watch it brat," Nini says stubbornly. "Sorry, are you talking to me or that hard headed brother of yours?" I raise an eyebrow at Nini and walk away. Tatiana struggles to forgive herself because she feels it's her fault her brother passed away.
