He's doing that to take revenge for his friend Esther. When Shoto and Esther were kids, their village got attacked by demons. Bad demons. The gods healed Shoto but it was too late for Esther. Since that day, Shoto hunts and kills every demon he can find. No matter how long it takes. Finally, Vox faces his hunter. No more running away. After a long fight, Shoto prepares to stab the demon one last time to kill him. But before he can do that, his vision blurs and he stumbles backwards.
