Lin Meili is a character(foil) who invents a new kind of cultivation, loves on the kids, has poor self-preservation instincts and just generally gets people to like her. Also the kids are good friends who care about each other, Jiang Cheng still loves Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji is basically telepathic, there's a threat to the cultivation world(shocking).
I have only seen the tv series and love Jingyi, Sizhui and Jin Ling so, so much. I love them.
Character studies through an OC lens is a thing I do now. And all of my babies get studied. And loved.
