January 2024. As the European leg of the tour for Being Funny in a Foreign Language is about to begin, Matty meets Ciara, a 23-year-old Film Studies student from London. They meet one random night in a random club, and their encounter could remain just a drunk conversation between strangers - until they're photographed together. When everyone declares them the new couple of the moment, why not pretend to be it? Ciara gets the exposure she needs for her projects, while Matty escapes the scrutiny about his relationship with Taylor Swift. Fake dating seems like the perfect solution. But will their feelings stay strictly fake, or will the line between pretense and reality start to blur?

She stumbles into the heart of a certain band member she never knew existed. Feeling completely uneasy with her life and the way her thoughts take over her mind, he finds a way to steady her, but he's just as uneasy.

She quickly finds out that George's flatmate Matty struggles with drugs, sleeplessness and moodswings - all of which she tries to help him cure. He needs an anchor.
