A broken heart can lead to many disasters. The broken heart of a god can lead to things worse than disasters. Things like me are the product of such broken hearts. Like my father, I am mistaken to be evil and vicious. Like my father, I am a king. Like my father, I will avenge the one who was destined to be my mother. Like Hades, I will avenge Persephone.

He told me stories of her every night before he tucked me in. Like clockwork, I would hear him silently pleading to the wind to bring her back. Like clockwork, his pleas would stop and sobbing would take its place. My father mourned the loss of his wife for 15 years. I mourned the loss of a mother that wasn't mine. For 15 years my father believed his wife to be dead. For 15 years my father believed my mother was gone for good. But for 15 years he was wrong.
