Elias, trapped alongside his family in a dangerous underground city, whose occupants pray to, and do the bidding of, the One True God.
And, finally, Emmeline, an Astrolyte born to human parents, whose very existence challenges the balance of the worlds, starting her new life at the London University for Astrolytes.
