"Mags I need you to stay away from me, please."

"Please help me understand why we can't talk Tate!"

He grabbed my throat by the sides and pushed me against the wall. My head slammed against it roughly, causing a hung up picture to crash down beside me. I looked into his eyes and I yearned for him to do the same. 

"Because, it's not safe and I'm not willing for you to lose your life over some stuck up asshole like me. I need you to get home now. Before I do something that will end both of our lives." He finished, breathing heavily. Tate let go of my neck and ran his fingers through his hair. He pointed towards the door, his back still turned to me. 

I grabbed my throat, relieving the pressure he put on it. "Fuck you," I spit out and scurried towards the door.

In Maggie's town and in all of the U.S., you may only talk to people that have the same eye color as you. Maggie gets quite lucky when she is born with glistening brown eyes, the most common color to be born with. Some people wear colored contacts, but they are forbidden by the capitol and are very hard to hide. 

But when she meets Austin (Tate) McAdams, she gets a certain feeling about him. He's quiet and reads books, but wears a leather jacket and rides a motorcycle. Maggie cannot help but be drawn towards him and wants to figure him out. The only problem is, his eyes.
